I found a drop of sunshine
Where children had been at play –
A drop of dew will cling
To the lightest finger touch;
A sundrop holds a closer ring,
Demurring to join, preferring to stay<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A sundrop still so gentle
You could hardly see its glow
But every greenleaf near it
Leaned near in recognition.
Fingers pressed into dirt
At last could slip in from below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A sundrop woven in a garland
Shows the pretty in every face;
A sundrop with a stick becomes
The scepter, sword or spear
The now-brave hand welcomes,
Warming to its now courageous place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A sundrop slipped into your shoe
Will let your feet run free –
An easy gambol o’er hill and dale,
Meadow green and dappled wood
Not rushing as the hurricane gale
But rolling as the breeze<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A sundrop held upon on your tongue\u00a0
Will show you always dressed
With the golden hour glow;
A sundrop in your heart will breathe\u00a0
A baby’s breath and know
Of perfect peace and rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
